Bucharest - people, culture and traditions

A full day tour for those who want to see how Romanian citizen lived in the past and how they are living today.

The tour includes a visit to the open air Village Museum, where we can admire village architecture and crafts from all over Romania; is one of the most original and fascinating museums and contains an amazing collection of original peasant homes drawn from around the country.

The next step of the tour is to make a short walk through the Herastrau Park – the largest  park from Bucharest,  situated on the banks of Herastrau lake, its favorable position for walking and recreation, and  attract  a lot of people living in Bucharest since the 18th century. The beauty spots: Expoflora Area( the flower exposition)  The roses Island, the Japanese Garden, Cariatidelor Alley.

You’ll take lunch at the Romanian Peasant Museum, which has a collection of textiles (especially costumes), icons, ceramics, and other artifacts of Romanian peasant life being one of the Europe's leading museums of popular arts and traditions.

At the end of tour I suggest something quite eccentric: to leave the civilized part of Bucharest, the center of city and enter  in the Bucharest neighborhoods to see how the normal/middle class of Romanian people are living. We will do that by visiting one of the biggest Farmers’ Market from Bucharest where you could provide or taste fresh, natural and delicious fruits, vegetables and all kind of cheese brought directly from the farm stead.
